Bill Paxton, LMSW, MM – President
Bill Paxton has almost 40 years of management experience in non-profit organizations where he has worked primarily in health care and behavioral health.
Bill obtained an undergraduate degree (education) from Calvin College, and masters degrees from both Michigan State University (MSW) and Aquinas College (MM). He has specialized training in change management and as a coach.
Daniel Armstrong, DDS – Dental Director
Daniel began volunteering at Exalta Health in June 2013 and became a staff dentist later that year. In 2015 he was appointed Dental Director. Daniel previously worked for Mel Trotter Ministries, Cherry Health, and Grace Health in Battle Creek, Michigan
Daniel attended Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, and the University of Michigan, receiving a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009. He completed an additional twelve-month training program at the University of Michigan Health System focusing on care for the mentally handicapped, those with complex medical conditions, and hospital inpatients.
Laura VanderMolen, DO – Medical Director
Dr. Laura VanderMolen has been with Exalta Health since September 2001 after returning from medical mission work in Peru. Laura serves as the primary doctor for many of our patients and recruits and provides oversight for the volunteer physicians and nurses at the clinic.
Laura was raised in Baltimore Maryland and attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan. After receiving her medical degree from Kirkville College of Osteopathic Medicine she completed her residency in Grand Rapids. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Cindy Mackey – Development Director
Cindy Mackey joined Exalta Health as Development Director to increase the community’s understanding and support for the mission of compassionate, accessible healthcare for everyone. She comes to Exalta Health with 20 years of experience in the world of healthcare and ministry not-for-profits. Most recently she was with the Mel Trotter Ministries, as Senior Director of Development. Prior to that, she was with the American Heart Association, as a Corporate Events Director, and she was the Director of the Northwest Michigan area of the American Cancer Society. Cindy has a diverse expertise in leadership, management, and in developing successful relationships.
Cindy attended Michigan State University, Muskegon Community College and Baker College. She is currently enrolled at Cornerstone University in Professional and Graduate studies program.
