Exalta Health president Bill Paxton and Kellie Norton, director of West Michigan & Upper Peninsula Administration Health Plan Business at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
Exalta Health hosted a press conference in December 2019 to celebrate 47 Michigan clinics, including four in Grand Rapids, who received a total of $860,500 in funding through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Strengthening the Safety Net program.
Exalta Health president Bill Paxton was grateful to receive $25,000 in funding for the 2019-2020 fiscal year (it started on October 1, 2019) from Blue Cross Blue Shield and said Exalta Health will use the money to support operations, including a critical staff member who works as a financial navigator on behalf of patients and a valuable AmeriCorps VISTA member.
Other Grand Rapids recipients are Baxter Community Center, Mel Trotter Ministries and Oasis of Hope Center. All three attended the press conference and also offered brief remarks and words of thanks.
